James joined NZIER in April 2009. He has a Bachelor of Commerce with Honours in economics and a law degree from Victoria University of Wellington. He is currently completing a Masters degree in economics, specialising in microeconomic policy impact analysis. James has a strong interest in environmental issues and welfare analysis. He has co-authored a number of papers on the taxation of pollution which involved modelling and numerical simulation of the welfare effects of regulation. In addition, James maintains a connection with the university and tutors undergraduate economics courses. |
