Nimisha joined NZIER in September 2009. She works primarily in the field of competition economics and has extensive experience in analysing the competitive effects of mergers and acquisitions. She has consulting experience in New Zealand and the UK, and has spent three years at the New Zealand Commerce Commission. As a result she has gained knowledge of several industries in New Zealand, some of which include ports, banks and the industrial, agricultural and pharmaceutical sectors.
Before moving to New Zealand, Nimisha was a member of the Government Economic Service in the United Kingdom (UK) for five years. She worked at the Office of Fair Trading in the UK and worked, as an Economic Advisor, at the Radiocommunications Agency (RA), prior to it becoming part of Ofcom. Nimisha has a MSc degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She also has a BSc (Hons) degree in Economics from University College London. |
