NZIER provides independent economic advice to give decision makers the greatest confidence in their policy and business decisions. At NZIER we undertake a wide range of consulting activities for the public and private sectors.

As a not-for-profit we publish research in the national interest to encourage debate on economic issues affecting New Zealand.

We have one of the largest and most experienced teams of economists outside government. Our work is stimulating as we often advise our clients on some of the most challenging policy or business strategy matters.

Employment opportunities

Whilst we have no specific vacancies at present, we would expect potential candidates to:

• Have a first class honours degree or higher qualification in economics
• Have strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Be a team player
• Be able to present and write clearly
• Be able to meet deadlines
• Have good customer service and marketing skills
